LG Sinha slams ‘demographic attack’ talks in Kashmir, says that it echoes TRF story India news
Srinagar: Conflicts continue to increase in Kashmir as “demographic changes” and inauguration of liquor shops in the valley, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday slammed such comments, claiming that these narratives rejected (TRF) in front of terrorist groups.Sinha said, “Some people are making irresponsible statements that guests are spoiling the culture of Jammu and Kashmir. They are saying that there is a demographic attack, and alcohol is spreading.”After inaugurating an exhibition and public outreach initiative in Srinagar, Sinha said, “This is a story similar to a terrorist organization.Sinha issued a warning to “divisive elements”, which he stopped to prevent “fake and dangerous stories”, which endanger peace and harmony.Valley-based parties including NC and PDP, rejecting the J&K grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules 2020, alleged that their purpose was to change the demographics of Kashmir.Earlier this year, Srinagar MP from NC Aga Ruhulla Mehdi called tourism in Kashmir a “cultural attack”. PDP MLA Wahid Parra also claimed that “the possibility of demographic change in Kashmir is real”.
