Veteran actress Mumbaz Recently opened about a deep personal and low-known chapter of his life, his equation with late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Speaking in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Mumtaz revealed that Chopra, who was once an assistant to his brother Bro Chopra, was infected with him and even proposed to him, not once, but frequent.
Recalling about those early days, Mumtaz said, “Not once, he must have asked me a thousand times. I am doing exaggeration, but he said to me on many occasions, ‘O Moti, I Love You Dude, marry me.’ Despite her heartfelt proposals, she did not feel just the same way.
‘There was no chemistry, I could not marry her’
Mumtaz explained that Yash Chopra was affectionate and frequent, he never saw him as a romantic partner. “For such a close relationship with someone, you have to fall in love with the person. You have chemistry. If you do not have chemistry, how can you live together as a married couple? I have never had that chemistry,” he said, it is clear that their bond remains plateonic.
He remembered how Chopra often visited her home and was well liked by her mother, who thought her as a good man. Mumtaz also had fond words for Chopra’s wife, Pamela, called him a hot hostess during his home visit.

Mumtaz became emotional as he remembered from being with the filmmaker in 2012, which is a Jab Tak Hai in his last direction just before the release of Jaan. “I was in London when I got the news,” she said. She remembered that Chopra once called her and asked her to promise that she would watch her upcoming film. This conversation remains in his memory.

During the later meeting with Chopra’s daughter -in -law Rani Mukherjee, she was reminiscent of her desire to visit Yash Raj Studio. Although she wanted to honor it, Mumtaz said that she now hesitate to ask for a tour, as a lot of time has passed.
