Srinagar: Concerned with the unhealthy level of arsenic in Indus water, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) on Thursday decided to launch a large-scale community-related sanitation campaign related to the Army, ITBP, BRO, local bodies and public.Recent water tests have shown that the level of arsenic in the Indus water is higher than the sewage found in treated sewage plants.Calling “deeply and unacceptable and unacceptable”, LAHDC President Tashi Gyalson directed Leh additional DC to identify weak parts and make flying squads at sub-division levels to identify weak parts and prevent the discharge of waste dumping and untreated sewage in the river. It is sacred, worshiped, and is necessary for life here.”He chaired a meeting by senior officials of Civil Administration, Army and ITBP, which called for an immediate coordinated action related to municipal committees, rural and urban development bodies and public.
