‘Milk ordered, lost 18.5 lakh rupees’: Mumbai woman cheated in online scam; Click on link exposed bank accounts. Bharat News

Police said a 71 -year -old woman from Mumbai lost Rs 18.5 lakh from her bank accounts after allegedly tried to give a liter of milk from her bank accounts. The woman living in Vadla was cheated by her full savings earlier this month. On August 4, he received a call from a person who introduced himself as an executive of a milk company. He sent him a link and asked him to fill his details to order. Police said he was asked to stay on call and follow his instructions. The conversation lasted before an hour, before he was hanging. The next day, the same collar re -approached her and took out more details. A few days later, during a regular visit to her bank, the woman found that Rs 1.7 lakh was withdrawn from an account. Further investigation revealed that two other accounts were also evacuated, in which there was a total loss of Rs 18.5 lakh. Investigators said that after clicking on the link, the fraudster had access to his phone. A case has been registered and investigation is going on.
