‘Miss Content’: Vodafone for exemption of SC junk arrears by Airtel, SC junk arrears. Bharat News

New Delhi: In a jolt by Airtel and Vodafone Idea, the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed its petition for exemption of interest and penalty related to the assailed gross revenue (AGR) dues, which is to a tune of Rs 80,000 crore. The order will also affect Tata Teleservice. The outstanding AGR is less than Rs 1.5 lakh crore after the original SC ruling in 2019 to recover the arrears from the industry. Only Reliance Jio came to the telecom in 2016 and came to the safe and there was a small risk for previous dues and adjustments.

Although companies demanded a stay, a bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadan rejected their petition and rejected their petitions, stating that it was “shocking and wrong”. The court also asked how multinational companies had filed petitions under Article 32 (demand for treatment of rights).
