Motiv unknown: Indian-man-man arrested in Canada to threaten to kill Mayor Patrick Brown of Brampton

A 29 -year -old Indian -origin person from Punjab, Kanwarjot Singh Manoria, was arrested by the Peel Police with a threat to kill Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown. He was taken into custody on Tuesday and accused of threatening to death or physical damage. Canadian media reported that a few weeks ago, the mayor’s office was threatened via email, and the son of wife and mayor was also mentioned. After the danger, Brown’s security had increased, and his family members were also on the radar of security details. Police said they measured the accused through an email he had sent. He was arrested after execution of search warrants and seizure of electronic devices. Investigation continues, the purpose of danger is unknown. Police said Kanwarjot was not working with any group and is no longer an active threat to the mayor, his family or community. In a statement posted on X, Brown said that he and his family wished the PRP and its officials to express their “deep praise” from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau for their work.He said, “We are relieved to know that he has caught a person who has allegedly threatened against us. The threats of violence and violence have no place in democracy. I am grateful to the opportunity to serve Brampton citizens, and threatened me not to stop me from doing the work that he chose to do,” he said. “At a press conference, Patrick Brown said he “had great confidence in Peel police” and this was not the first time he was threatened. “I’m sure it won’t be the last,” Brown said. “I definitely want my family to be safe, and I believe they are, but it will not change my vision to do about public safety and accordingly.”Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said the danger against Brown was unacceptable. “I know him well and I hope he will be safe,” Chow said at an unrelated news conference on Wednesday, as CBS News told.
