Mumbai’s rain: heavy fall flood roads, railway tracks floods, red alerts seemed to be seen; Look Bharat News

New Delhi: Heavy rains provoked Mumbai on Saturday, causing waterfall to parts of the city and a deadly landslide in Vikoli. According to officials, two people were killed and two others were injured, when during the early hours of the morning, mud and stone fell from a hill in Varsha Nagar.ALSO READ: Landslide 2 kilo in vikhroli; IMD issues red warnings for the cityThe fall, which began around 1 am, continued in the morning, recording more than 200 mm of rain in parts of Mumbai. Vikhroli recorded the highest at 248.5 mm, followed by Santa Circus at 232.5 mm, Sion with 221 mm and Juhu at 208 mm. In contrast, Colaba received just 70 mm in South Mumbai.Local train services, the city’s lifeline, Dadar, Kurla, Sion, Election and Tilak Nagar were severely disrupted due to waterlogging on the tracks, affecting both central and port lines. Western Railway also reported the delay. The best buses were removed from parts of the floods in Sion, Kings Circle, Aare Colony and Malad subway.The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed that the incident took place at 2.39 pm when a landslide buried a hut related to the Mishra family. Four members were rushed to Civic-Ran Rajwadi Hospital, where doctors declared 19-year-old Shalu Mishra and 50-year-old Suresh Mishra dead on arrival. Two left, Aarti Mishra, 45, and 20 -year -old Ruturaj Mishra are being treated for injuries and are stated in a stable position.Emergency teams, including the fire brigade and local police, were immediately deployed on the site. Officials said that the residents of the nearby were transferred to safe areas as a precaution.

Imd issues red warning

The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has issued a red warning for Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Thane, Palghar and neighboring districts. Authorities warned of “very acute convection” in the city and predicted a drastic decline from liberals in the coming hours.IMD said in a post on X, “The Mumbai radar shows a very intense convection in the city and the area. It is likely to continue for the next 2-3 hours.”On Saturday, continuous rain started waterlogging at several places including Gandhi Nagar, Kings Circle and Sion railway stations, disrupted road traffic and slowed down train services. Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani instructed all civil officials in the wards to remain on duty and ensure that there were emergency measures to deal with the influence of Mountpore.
