Tension in Manipur: Women protesters attempted a storm in NPP chief’s house after controversial remarks on Arambai Teengol

New Delhi: Tension increased in Imphal West, Manipur on Friday, as a group of women protesters attempted to give a storm to the residence of National People’s Party (NPP) state president Yumnam Joykumar Singh, which Arambai Tenggol attacked “Kukis”, which was later reiterated.
In a post on X, Singh said, “Biran ji told wrong Cookie-Matti Struggle‘Roots … Why his government allowed rallies on a large scale, withdrew commandos from Charachandpur, and attacked groups such as Arabian Tenggol? ,
Arambai Tenggol’s name was later removed, although the chief confirmed, although he has not yet issued a public apology.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Singh said, “We discussed with representatives of the bodies of mothers. We have removed the Arabian from the post. There was no intention of hurting emotions.”
Accepting the issue, NPP Youth Wing said it was a “misunderstanding”. The letter stated, “We have removed Arambai Tenggol from the post since then. It is most unfortunate that this misunderstanding happened and we share your injury. We work together to avoid such issues in the future,” the letter said.
“NPP Arambai stands with the volunteers of Teengol and other villages who sacrificed for our kingdom,” said this.
Manipur has been struggling with ethnic violence since May 2023, causing more than 200 deadly and large -scale displacement. The Rajya Sabha approved the President’s proposal in the state on Friday after an intensive debate between the ruling party and the opposition members.
