Trinumool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Motra compared the ongoing migrant verification drive in Gurugram in BJP -ruled Haryana to “Nazi Germany”.Drives are being operated to identify Bangladeshis and Rohingyas living illegally in the city. A large number of workers affected by exercise are from TMC MP’s home state, West Bengal.“In many cases, we, the state (West Bengal) government only comes to know when their families call us and say that they have been picked up. So it is completely like Nazi Germany, where people are being identified on linguistic identity and are being denied the process of law and are being denied the law and they are reverse owners,” Moitra told Digital Video, Editi Prasad of Times of India.
He said that 99 percent of Gurugram residents are “migrant”, as a migrant who is out of his home state in search of work.
