Nepal PM Oli to visit India in mid -September

Kathmandu: Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will pay India’s official visit in mid -September, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Sunday.“Preparations for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit are going on. However, the detailed schedule of the date and the journey is yet to be finalized, ”said Lok Bahadur Chhatri, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs.However, sources in the Prime Minister’s Office said that Oli would go on his official visit to Southern neighbor on 16 September.This time the journey will be less, perhaps for two days, the sources said.Oli, the President of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist -Leninist) – popular as CPN -UML – served as Prime Minister for the fourth time in July.He had chosen to visit China for his first foreign trip, broke the tradition of going to India as the first destination after assuming the post of Prime Minister.Prime Minister Oli visited China in December last year at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Lee Kiang. During his four -day visit, the Prime Minister addressed a function at Peking University in Beijing and met President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Qong.Amidst speculation by some sections of local media, which they did not receive any invitation from India for an official visit, showing that their relations with New Delhi were sour, Oli said on Thursday that he would visit India and both sides are undergoing land work on both sides. However, he did not specify any time limit for the journey at that time.
