Govt has informed the WAQF rules for property registration and monitoring through Central Portal India News

According to data available with the Ministry of Minority Affairs, India has more than 9 lakh Waqf properties.The new rules also require that after the completion of the survey, the state government should publish a list of ‘Aukaf’ (Waqf Properties) and upload it on the portal and database, within a period of 90 days from the date of publication of the list in the official gazette.Which clearly shows that the delay will not be allowed, the rules make it clear that if Mutavalli fails to upload the details within the stipulated time, then he will have to go to the tribunal to look for time for time.After filing the details of Mutawali, the Chief Executive Officer or any other officer authorized by the WAQF board will verify the details of the WAQF property and certify the authenticity of the information within a certain time frame.In case of registration of new Waqf Properties after April 8, 2025, Mutavalli will file an application to the board for its registration within three months of its construction. A copy of the Waqf deed will need to be uploaded.In the case of investigating the wrong announcement of WAQF, the nominee will complete the investigation and submit his report within a period of one year from the date of reference made by the collector.As per the rules, the Ministry of Minority Affairs in charge of WAQF Division will be in charge under the supervision of Joint Secretary Portal and Database, including WAQF properties, institutional governance, court affairs and dispute solutions, financial monitoring resources management and characteristics for real -time monitoring of surveys.Each state government will have to appoint a nodal officer and set up a centralized assistance unit to assist WAQF, registration, maintenance of accounts, audit and waqf and other related activities of the board.The functioning of the portal and database will be reviewed by an independent agency at the end of each financial year by the Central Government. The government will have to publish the agency’s report and action report on the agency’s recommendations on the portal and database within a period of three months from the date of submission of the report.
