New R & AW chief: Parg Jain, who played an important role in Operation Sindor, takes the top job; Successful Ravi Sinha | Bharat News

New Delhi: The government on Saturday appointed Parag Jain as the new head of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&D). The 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Punjab cadre, Jain, is known for his important role in high-done operation Sindor. He will succeed Ravi Sinha, who is ready to complete his term on 30 June. Parag Jain has been scheduled to hold a position for a fixed two -year term on 1 July. He is currently headed by R&AW Aviation Research Center (ARC), which oversees aerial surveillance and related operations. Jain brings more than two decades of experience within the R&D for its new role. His initial career includes significant operational contribution during the extreme terrorism in Punjab, where he served as Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector General in several districts. Officials said that within the R&W, Jain has handled the Pakistan Desk extensively and served in Jammu and Kashmir during the cancellation of Article 370. He has also been posted in Indian missions in Sri Lanka and Canada. During his tenure in Canada, he monitored the Khalistani terror module working from abroad.
