New Tatakal Ticket Booking Rules from 1 July: In a big step, Indian Railways has announced that from July 1, 2025, only Aadhaar certified users will be able to book Tattal train tickets only. The Ministry of Railways issued a directive in all railway areas on June 10, 2025, stating that the purpose of this requirement is “to ensure that the benefits of Tatkal Scheme are obtained by the common end users.,Official communication specified that “with an impact from 01-07-2025, tickets under the Tatkal Scheme can be booked only by Aadhaar certified users through the website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)/ its app.”In addition, the Ministry has determined that from July 15, 2025, passengers will have to complete an additional base-based OTP certification step for tatkal booking.Also read In just 15 years! New Tatakal Ticket Rules 2025 explained:
- From July 1, 2025, train tickets will be specially available for booking especially through the IRCTC website or its mobile application under the Indian Railways’s Tutle Scheme, who has completed their mobile application for only travelers or users who have completed their own
Base authentication Process. - Additionally, from July 15, 2025, the Ministry has said that passengers will have to go through the OTP verification process associated with a supplementary base by doing tatkal reservation.
- Directing for the authorized ticketing agents of Indian Railways about Tatkal Booking, additionally underlined the restrictions.
- These agents will face prohibition when the booking window gets the first day’s tatkal ticket during the initial 30 -minute period. This ban is applicable from 10.00 am to 10.30 am for air-conditioned classes and from 11.00 am to 11.30 am for non-air-conditioned classes.
The Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and IRCTC have received instructions from the Ministry to implement the necessary system changes and relay these updates to each zonal railway division.
