New Delhi: To ensure that road crash victims get medical help in the earliest possible time, the next generation ambulance will have tools such as glassbreak or window punch tools, rescue ax, bolt cutter, heavy-duty hydraulic jack and basic vehicle tools, which are set to remove stuck individuals inside the vehicles, as frequent.The Center is finalizing the change in the motor vehicle industry standards (AIS) for ambulances to ensure the availability of these devices in vehicles and has published the draft notification. Some ambulances will be equipped with better care and work as a newborn ambulance from one hospital to another to move sick or premature newborns. There will also be several stretcher ambulances to help in road accidents, fire and other accidents or disasters.Draft AIS mentions nine devices tools that, in addition to ambulances, should be a fire extinguishing and respiratory protection masks. “Necessary changes will be included soon,” said an official.The ambulance will also include flashlight or torch, reflective warning triangle, emergency light bar and reflective security jackets for all crew members to avoid an accident during rescue.These changes note that even after reaching the accident sites there are not many examples of ambulances, even not being used too much, as the injured cannot be taken out at the stuck time inside the vehicles.Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has emphasized the need to equip the ambulances with such devices and train his personnel to use them.
