No health warning for samosas, jalebis: PIB Issues Statement; Call claim fake | Bharat News

New Delhi: The government’s fact-checking wing Press Information Bureau (PIB) said on Tuesday that the Union Health Ministry did not advise the vendors to advise them to take a warning label on Indian snacks and Samos, Jalebi and Laddoos.“The advice of the Union Health Ministry does not label any warning on food products sold by vendors, and is not selective towards Indian snacks. Some media reports claim that @Mohfw_india has issued health warnings on food products such as samosas, jalebi and laddus.”This after several reports claim that cafeteria and public sector will soon demonstrate warnings for these foods, after an order from the Ministry of Health, Nagpur with the first person to follow this instruction. The reports further claimed that the ministry ordered all central institutions, including AIIMS Nagpur, to install “Oil and Chinese Board” – a vivid poster said how hidden fats and sugar lean in everyday snacks are lean. This is the first step towards treating junk food like tobacco.
