‘Not in Place’: Delta Airlines plane wing loses the part of the flap mid-air; FAA started investigation

A delta air lines aircraft lost part of its wing flap during their visit on Tuesday, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration. The aircraft successfully completed its landing at the Rale-Darham International Airport (RDU) as reported by the USA Today.According to the flightware, a flight monitoring service, Delta Flight 3247, which was operating its regular route from Atlanta to RDU, arrived with a delay of about 55 minutes.The aircraft included 12-year-old Boeing was 737–900er, with 109 passengers and six crew members, Delta confirmed. There was no injury due to this incident. The airline blamed the delay in adverse weather conditions, especially in the surrounding area with thunder.A Daleta spokesperson said at the USA Today, “After the aircraft landed safely, it was observed that a part of the followed age flap of the leftist wing was not in place. The delta is fully supporting the recovery efforts and supporting the investigation as anything is not more important than security,” the spokesperson of Daleta said in a statement of the USA.The FAA indicated in its statement that they have initiated an investigation and are working to verify if a plane component discovered on a driveway in Rale matches the missing flap section from the delta aircraft.
