New Delhi: A ceasefire should be put up in Gaza and all the hostages should be released, India participated in an open debate in the UNSC on the Middle East situation, including Palestinian questions.Indian Ambassador P Harish reiterated that the path to end peace is rooted in a two -state solution – one that establishes a sovereign, viable and independent state Palestine within recognized and mutually agreed boundaries, peacefully shoulder to shoulder with Israel.“The path ahead is clear, and India is consistent in this regard. The ongoing human suffering should not be allowed to continue. There is a need to make human aid safe, continuously and timely. There is no alternative to peace. A ceasefire should be placed. All the hostages should be released, “Harish said, adding that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable passage to achieve these objectives and that there are no other improvements or solutions.India had prevented the immediate and unconditional ceasefire to vote on UNGA resolution for immediate and unconditional ceasefire, even though it underlined the importance of the Trus in its comment.Harish said, “India shares historical and strong relations with our Palestinian brothers and sisters. We have always stood by him and our commitment to Palestinian cause is unbreakable.”
