New Delhi: Last month, the husband of a woman who was hanged in her Sharjah flat was detained at Thiruvananthapuram Airport on Sunday and handed over to the police. Police said 40 -year -old Sathhesh of Shathkota in Kollam district was accused of removing the suicide of his wife Atulya, a 29 -year -old, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances on 19 July. A lookout notice was issued against him. The immigration officials stopped him on arrival and handed him over to the local police, who said that he would be given to the crime branch for investigation. Hathhesh’s lawyer said that he returned from Sharjah after Giving him anticipatory bail by the Principal and Sessions Court of Kollam. The court ruled that only the crime branch could arrest him, and it should be released if he provides a bond of Rs 2 lakh with two bails. The lawyer said that the decision was based on Atulya’s death certificate, which listed the cause of death as a “suicide on hanging”. Athulya’s family had filed a complaint allegedly since his marriage in 2014, accusing Satish of harassment due to dissatisfaction with dowry. Cedar also says that two days before his death, he beat him up, hit him on the head with a plate and hit him in the stomach. A case has been registered under the provisions of the suicide, cruelty by spouses, cruelty, voluntary injury, and wrongly restraint, along with provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act, as well as sections of the Psalm, Joint Code.
