Only 69 ‘Waqf manufacturers’ presented the property details on the Central UMED website: Government | Bharat News

New Delhi: It has been two months for the launch of the Central Portal that the details of all the registered WAQF properties have been determined by the law within six months, but the data shared by the government in Parliament on Wednesday showed that only 69 “WAQF manufacturers” has presented the property details on the website while 663 have started the process.While four properties have been rejected, including three in Andhra Pradesh and one Odisha, no one has been made part of the database, according to data shared in the Lok Sabha by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in response to a question.In his reply, Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju listed measures taken to inform the meetings, training programs and measures being taken by the authorities, addressing concerns and equipping the state Waqf boards to enable WAQF’s’ Mutawalis (Caretakers) to upload the details. A dedicated helpline has also been set up to address the complaints raised by the boards.According to the information shared by the Ministry at the launch of the portal on 6 June, it is estimated that India has more than 9 lakh Waqf properties. It was then shared that the Central Waqf portal would follow a three-tier verification system which includes ‘Maker-Chaker-Anumudan’. After entering the property details as a Mutavalli ‘manufacturer’, it will be after approval by the Nominated Govt Authority after verification of verification by the WAQF board officials and the records to enable its entry into the ‘UMED’ portal.663 ‘Manufacturers’, who has initiated the process of uploading details, includes 193 from Odisha, 102 from Uttarakhand and 69 from Andhra Pradesh. No manufacturer has started the process in Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Goa, Ladakh and Laxmip.Those who have presented the details – 27 are from Himachal Pradesh. 11 from Odisha, five from Manipur, four from Andhra Pradesh, three from Rajasthan and Punjab, two from Uttarakhand and each from each, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Delhi.Rijiju said, “On July 28, about 140 complaints/suggestions have been received from across the country and their proposals have also been uploaded on the portal to help in other boards to effectively understand and handle the work of the portal.”The Ministry has recommended the establishment of Project Management Units (PMU) at Central, State/UT, Waqf Board and district levels to ensure that the details of all properties have been uploaded on the portal.
