Only lawyers can wear white shirts, black coats and pants inside the court: J&K HC Bar Association | Bharat News

Srinagar: The High Court Bar Association in Jammu has stopped anyone other than lawyers from wearing white shirts, black trousers and black coats in the court premises.A statement issued on Saturday by Bar Association Joint Secretary Prasu Mahajan informed that “a clerk, litigator or member of the general public is not allowed to wear a white shirt, black pants and black coats during his visit to the court premises”. The statement said that anyone violated the instructions to anyone, saying that “touts and appropriate action will be taken as appropriate action under the law.The association stated that the dress is “strictly reserved for lawyers, which is in the form of professional identity and dignity of the legal fraternity”. This asked the advocates to ensure that the interns working with them should wear black tie with appropriate uniforms, and “avoid wearing bands in the court premises until their nomination as a lawyer”.Retired NIA Court Judge, Subash Chander Gupta, told TOI that although the advisor is unusual, it provides a useful purpose. “It causes problems when the Tout disrupts himself as advocates,” he said.Gupta, however, was considered that the ban on the white shirt should be reconsidered, as many litigation prefers to wear them in hot weather.Senior advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed said that young lawyers have repeatedly expressed concern over presenting “unauthorized people” as advocates and misleading cases. He said that it was damaging the profession, and the same Bar Association “inspired to take initiative to regulate this misuse”, he said.
