Operation Sindhu: 3,170 Indians pulled out of conflict-Hit Israel, Iran; Sri Lankan and Nepali citizens also rescued. Bharat News

New Delhi: India on Tuesday evacuated more than 1,100 citizens of Iran and Israel amid tensions between the two countries, causing the total clearance number of 3,170 under Operation Indus.From Israel, 594 Indians were brought back, with the Indian Air Force to take over 400 people out of Jordan and Egypt to take out more than 400 people using C -17 heavy aircraft. Additionally, 161 Indians who traveled from the road to Amman, the capital of Jordan, were sent back to New Delhi on a chartered flight.According to the details shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea), from Iran, India on Tuesday vacated two chartered flights, three Sri Lankan and 573 Indians with two Nepali citizens. With these fresh withdrawal, India has now brought back a total of 2,576 Indians from the Persian Gulf nation.Since the launch of Operation Sindhu last week, after the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Iran, India has vacated a total of 3,170 Indians from the two countries.The first group of 161 Indians, who traveled from Israel from Jordan to a road, arrived in New Delhi on a chartered flight from Amman at 8.20 am on Tuesday morning. The group was obtained by Foreign Minister Pabitra Margerita at the airport.Another group of 165 Indians, which also moved from Jordan to Jordan from Israel, was sent back from Amman to New Delhi in the C -17 aircraft. Minister of State L Murugan received this group.Separate, 268 Indians who crossed from Israel to Egypt were evacuated from the C-17 aircraft from shame-L-Shik and reached New Delhi at 11 am.From Iran, 292 Indian citizens were taken out on a special flight, which reached New Delhi at 3.30 pm in New Delhi, said Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs. Another batch of 281 Indians, three Sri Lankan and two Nepali citizens, were evacuated from Iran and reached New Delhi at 3 pm in another special flight from Mashad.“2576 Indian citizens are now brought home from Iran as part of #Perationsindhu,” said Jaiswal.Earlier, on Monday night, 290 Indian citizens and a Sri Lankan were taken out of a special flight.The conflict between Israel and Iran has seen both sides firing hundreds of missiles and drones on each other cities, military facilities and strategic sites in the last week. Tension increased after the US bombing on three major Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday morning.India has been emptying its citizens using chartered flights from the Iranian capital Yarevan and Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat from Wednesday from Wednesday to Wednesday. Iran on Friday lifted its airspace sanctions, which led to three chartered flights from Mashhad.The first withdrawal flight with 290 Indians landed in New Delhi on Friday, while the second flight arrived with 310 Indians on Saturday afternoon.
