Saying that more than 100 dreaded terrorists were killed in the attacks by India, PM Modi said that not only the buildings of terrorist organizations were destroyed, but their courage was also badly shaken. He said, “The terrorists had erased the vermilion of our sisters, and India replied by destroying its terrorist headquarters,” he said.Sindoor, or vermilion is a symbol of marriage in Hindu customs. The word Sanskrit is derived from Sindura, which mentions red, orange-red or maroon cosmetic powder worn by married Hindu women in their hair bid.
