New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that India is ready to assist Pakistan in combating terrorism, saying that Indian forces are capable of dealing with terrorist threats across the border. Speaking in Rajya Sabha during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Singh said, “If you [Pakistan] Are not able to take action against terrorism, seek help from India, we are ready to help. ,He said, “Our army is capable of fighting terror on this side of the border, as well as on the other side,” he said that it was proved to be India’s military response through Operation Sindoor after the Pahgam attack in April.Singh said that now the operation has been suspended, but warned that if Pakistan continues to support terrorism, it could resume. “If Pakistan fulfills any terrorist incidents in the future, we will resume Operation Sindoor without any hesitation … there can be a smallweight but no complete stop,” he said.The Defense Minister informed the House that three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 people were killed, were killed by Indian forces. He appreciated the efforts of the army, saying, “I congratulate the forces for killing three terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam terror attack.”Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the operation after holding a meeting with the service heads and gave them complete freedom to decide on the appropriate response. Singh said, “The purpose was to destroy the infrastructure of terror and give a message of zero tolerance to terror,” Singh said, India’s action was in self -defense and not expanded.He further stated that the Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan had requested India to stop hostility, and India agreed on the condition that the operation would be “suspended, ended”.Singh further emphasized that the military leadership had planned the operation well to avoid damage to the citizens. “We chose the option that would cause maximum damage to terrorists and their bases, not causing any harm to the common citizens of Pakistan,” he said.Singh also criticized Pakistan for allowing Pakistan to join a major anti-terrorism committee and appealed to the global community to prevent Islamabad from funding, claiming that a large part goes to support terror.The session at the upper house raised slogans to opposition members, including TMC MPs and did not allow them to exit after their points. Meanwhile, Singh said that “one day will come” when people in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir proudly identify as Indians.(With input from agencies)
