Kolkata/Surat: Pahgam tragedy The survivors said that on Thursday, the terrorists registered a massacre on their bodycam, while they went about killing tourists one after the other.
Sohini (37), the widow of Teki Bitton Edhikari (40), Florida, has not yet come in terms of her husband’s death. He said, “I could not erase those bad dreams from my memory. The gunman who shot my husband had a video camera that was taken to his forehead. This meant that he was recording acts or streaming it to see some persons,” he said. Bitton was held at gunpoint and when he was asked to reveal his religion, after remaining silent, he was asked to recite the first Kalma. When he said that he could not do, admitting that he was a Hindu, he was shot and killed.
Recalling the moments in the Besaran Valley before the massacre, Sohini said: “We were spending a good time in the valley when we saw some people and saw questions. “When we felt that we had survived, my husband was shot. He slipped to the ground. First, I felt that he had fainted and could be revived.”
Another survivor, Naksh (10) also revealed that the terrorists registered the murders on their bodycam. A banker, Shailesh Kalathia, father of Naksh, was among 26 victims at the Kandivali branch of SBI in Mumbai. The boy, his sister, Niti and mother, survived the massacre, with Shital.
Recalling the horror, Naksh said: “We were hungry, so we went to eat. Suddenly, the bullets erupted, and all fled to their lives. The gunmen were wearing caps fitted with cameras.”
