Islamabad: Pakistan on Tuesday welcomed the American decision to nominate the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its suicide wing, Majeed Brigade as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs), to strengthen Islamabad’s own terrorism efforts and Signaling saw the safety alignment between two parts.The designation was announced by the US State Department on Monday, adding Major Brigade as a BLA nickname and expanded the restrictions, travel restrictions and legal punishment for supporters. This decision implements comprehensive restrictions and we are seen as underlining a rare moment of US-Pakistan security alignment, such as the main region of the Army, Marshal Asim Munir attached to a high-level talks in Munir Washington.Pakistan’s Foreign Office said it excluded the BLA in 2006 and banned the Majed Brigade on 18 July 2024. Both have been convicted for “heinous” acts, including the March 2025 Jaffer Express kidnapping, killing more than 30 people, and itching bus bombing, which claimed dozens of civilians.The American steps came when Munir traveled his second high-level visit to Washington in two months, stuck on expanded cooperation on terrorism, intelligence sharing and regional stability.Security analysts say the designation converts the interests of American-Pakistan in Balochistan, home to a province rich in minerals and home to a strategic Gwadar port. The BLA and Majeed Brigade have repeatedly targeted Chinese citizens, infrastructure and projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in an attempt to derail investment and development.Pakistan has intensified military operations in Balochistan in recent months, killing more than 50 suspected militants associated with BLA Splinter groups in Jhob, Katch and Gwadar. Officials believe that it will help us to shut down backing funding, disrupt safe havens and compete online publicity.For Islamabad, the American designation is more than a symbolic victory, it is a strategic opportunity to align international action with domestic priorities in its decades -long battle against rebellion.
