Canada Election: Supporting Khalistan leader Jagamet Singh stepped down; NDP loses party position

Canadian leader Jagmeet Singh New Democratic Party (NDP) and a vocal supporter from Khalistan – a separatist Sikh movement, announced on Tuesday that he would step down as a party leader.
This comes after the results of the 45th federal election, where Singh lost his parliamentary seat not only in British Columbia – capturing the third – but also lost his official position to his party after failing to win the minimum 12 seats required in the House of Commons.
Announcing his sacrifice on social media, Singh said, “It is an honor of my life to lead NDP and represent the people of Bernbai Central. I am disappointed that we cannot win more seats. But I am not disappointed in our movement. I know that we will always choose hope on fear.”
