According to police statements on Friday, a fugitive pet lion attacked a woman and two children on a busy road in Lahore, Pakistan. The police footage shared by various media outlets showed the lion jumping on a barrier from his enclosure and chased a woman carrying a shopping bag on Thursday night. The surveillance video tricked the lion on his back and knocked on the ground, while a child tried to escape. The lion was then seen chasing other pedestrians as the fleeing people scrambled to escape.According to a police statement citing the father of the children cited by the AFP, the lion attacked his children at the age of five and seven after injuring the mother, causing injuries on his arms and face.The victims received treatment for the hospital, although their injuries were not fatal.The father’s statement in the police report indicated that the lion owners entertain the attack on the pedestrians.On Friday, three persons were arrested by the police in the case of case. The Deputy Inspector General of Lahore told the AFP, “The suspects dispatched with the lion, but were caught within 12 hours of the incident.”The 11 -month -old male lion was confiscated by the authorities and transferred to a wildlife sanctuary, where employees confirmed the healthy condition of the animal.In the most populous province of Punjab, Pakistan, having foreign animals, especially large faults, traditionally indicated positions and effects.In December 2024, a security guard shot an adult lion, who survived his enclosure in another Lahore district, causing panic among the residents.This phenomenon inspired the provincial administration to implement new rules that control the trade, purchase, breeding and ownership of big cats.Current rules require owners to obtain a proper license for these animals, which are prohibited in residential areas. The breeders must pay adequate registration fee, and the fields should capture at least 10 acres of land.
