Panchayat Representative to learn management skills from IIT Kanpur. Bharat News

The Panchayati Raj Department of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday launched a leadership and management training program for panchayat representatives.As part of this initiative to increase local government, a memorandum (MOU) was signed between the department and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.The MoU was signed with the primary purpose of combining the necessary leadership qualities and management skills in the presence of the Director of Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, Principal Secretary Anil Singh and Panchayati Raj Amit Kumar Singh who assist in local development.“I am glad that our panchayat representatives, who had to first go to other states for such training, will now receive high quality training within Uttar Pradesh. This will ensure their meaningful participation in the development of the state, ”said Om Prakash Rajbhar.Principal Secretary Mr. Anil Singh said, “The main objective of the National Village Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) is to build the capabilities of the panchayat representatives. Through this initiative, we want to provide them training from top institutions like IIT Kanpur, so that they can be able to benefit from global expertise.”APart of the initiative, IIT Kanpur will conduct an intensive 5-day program to benefit about 500 panchayat representatives across Uttar Pradesh. The course will cover five core modules: good governance and leadership development, plan and resource management, digital equipment and e-governance, financial management and budget, and community participation and conflict solutions.Participants will get certificates on completion of training by IIT Kanpur. Tarun Gupta, a professor at IIT Kanpur, said, “We are happy to be a part of this impressive initiative. After training, these representatives will be well equipped to make significant contribution in areas such as financial management and good governance.”“Training from prestigious institutions like IIT Kanpur will help our panchayat members develop leadership qualities and adopt modern technology effectively, which will play an important role in the development of their villages, blocks and districts,” Director Amit Kumar Singh insisted.
