Participation in Crime: How Russia is running drug trafficking racket from Ukraine Syndicates Bali – with Crypto and Encrypted Chat

Indonesia’s national drug agency (BNN) has recognized Bali as an important place for the operation of drug smuggling, including Russian and Ukrainian citizens. According to Indonesia’s state-driven Antara News Agency, these syndicate laws are using advanced techniques such as blockchain to avoid detection by law enforcement. The head of BNN, Police Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom said that his agency has found that the smugglers are relying on the laser system distributed to manage their operations in a prudent manner. Humkom said during a public lecture in Bali, “This is a very unique event, where Russia and Ukraine citizens – two countries are currently in war – crime (Ki) in Bali has become a participant in drug trafficking,”Hukom said that smugglers have used social media platforms, especially Instagram to join buyers.Communication is done using coded language and encryption to prevent tracing. Syndicate is also conducting transactions through cryptocurrency rather than traditional payment methods, making enforcement efforts more complicated. Hukom was told by news agency Ankara, “It is very difficult to tighten such practices as criminals do not transact in a traditional way.”Indonesian officials are coordinating with Russian officials to resolve the issue. The United Nations office on Drugs and Crime has earlier stated that Indonesia is a major target for international drug syndicates, partially due to its large youth population, even though there are strict drug laws in the country.
