US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he ordered a rare mid -decade census, which aims to leave illegal migrants by national counting. This step has come as an attempt to reducing efforts to reopen the Congress map before the mid -term elections of 2026.Trump said in a post on the truth social, “I have directed our Commerce Department to immediately start work on a new and highly accurate census based on modern day facts and figures and, significantly, using the results and information obtained from the 2024 presidential election, Trump said in a post in a post.He said, “Those who are illegally in our country will not be counted in the census,” he said. The US Constitution requires census every 10 years, but in the 1970s, rare efforts have been made to conduct the National HeadCount of the Middle decade. In most cases, such as 1975 attempts, those efforts were removed. Historically, the counting of mid-posture has been authorized by the Congress-not unilaterally ordered by the President. Trump’s instruction is likely to face legal challenges from Democrats.Typically, the US Census Bureau “collects data from all foreigners who participate in its sensors and surveys regardless of legal status.” During his first term, Trump tried to add a citizenship question in the 2020 census, but the plan was eventually withdrawn after a series of legal failures, the New York Post reported. The 2020 census also saw misunderstandings. Red states such as Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas were reduced, while Blue States such as Delaware, Massachusetts, New York and Road Island were overcounting. These anomalies focus on redistribution, holding the majority of a razor-thread house with GOP.Last month, Texas Republican went to configure the state Congress map in an attempt to secure five additional GOP-accepted seats. Trump supported the plan. However, Texas Democrats temporarily blocked the attempt by fleeing the state during a special legislative session. In response, Democratic leaders in blue states including California and New York have threatened to resume their Congress map.
