Pilot becomes ill before takeoff, IndiGo Delhi-Pun flight delayed 4.5 hours: ‘Proper medical support provided’. Bharat News

New Delhi: On Friday, a Delhi-to-Pune Indigo flight was delayed by four and a half hours, when the pilot set to operate the aircraft, fell into sick moments before the takeoff, the airline confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday.IndiGo said Flight 6E 2262, originally ready to leave for Delhi at 6:00 am on July 4, was forced to return to the Gulf after the pilot informed that he was unwell. The airline said the situation was handled according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the crew member was given immediate medical attention.“The unhealthy crew was provided with appropriate medical assistance and an alternative crew was assigned to operate the aircraft, which delayed the flight.”Data from the flight tracking website flightradar24 showed that the flight eventually fell away from the schedule for more than four hours.IndiGo further stated that the flight was also delayed due to temporary airspace restrictions at Pune Airport, which contributed to extended disruption.The incident came on the same day, another airline reported a similar intimidation, an Air India commander fell into a cockpit in Bengaluru just before taking a flight to Delhi.
