Power outage disrupts London’s metro network

London: Several lines on the London underground network were suspended or interrupted on Monday as a power outage, the British Capital Transport Authority said. Transport to the London website showed that at least three metro lines were suspended due to power failure, and during the Monday afternoon crowd there were severe delays and partial suspensions on at least six other lines. The Transport Authority said it was working with the National Grid to determine the cause of the outage. “Due to a brief obstruction of power supply to our network, several lines lost power for a short period of time,” TFL Chief Operating Officer Claire Mann said in a statement. “We are working to achieve the entire network and run again as soon as possible,” he said. The National Grid said that there was a “mistake” on its transmission network in Central London and it was solved within seconds. ” Earlier, a transport for a London spokesperson told the PA News Agency that “for a few minutes” in South London, the metro network causes disruption in the network. British media reported that many stations in Central London were completely closed. Last month, an electrical outage caused by a fire at an electrical substation in West London forced the closure of the Heathro Airport for about a day, disrupting thousands of flights. The government ordered an inquiry into the country’s “energy flexibility” after the fire, which expressed concern about the ability of Britain’s disasters or the ability to face attacks on important infrastructure.
