New Delhi: suspended JD (S) leader Prajwal Revanna has been named prisoner number in 15528. He distracted a tearful and visually distressed at the first night in Parappana Aghara Central Jail in Bengaluru after a 47 -year -old domestic worker was sentenced in a rape case.Jail officials said that Revanna was emotionally overwhelmed and appeared under stress throughout the night. According to jail health officials, he broke up during a medical examination held after his arrival on Saturday night. He said that his medical condition was stable.
A senior medical officer said, “He broke during medical check-up and expressed his pain to the employees.” He is currently placed in a high-security cell under increased security.He also informed the employees that they had transferred the High Court to challenge their sentence. Jail officials confirmed that the standard dress code was being followed and Revanna would need to wear a prison uniform given to all the prisoners.For elected representatives, a special court on Friday convicted a 47-year-old domestic worker in 2021 by a special court in 2021 by a special court. The court found him guilty of several crimes and booked him under several sections, including repeated rape, sexual harassment, voyurism and criminal interimity.Prajwal was awarded life imprisonment under Section 376 (2) (K) and 376 (2) (N) for the remaining part of each natural life, as well as a fine of Rs 5 lakh under each. He has been sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 25,000 under Section 354A, rigorous imprisonment for 7 years and a fine of Rs 50,000 under Section 354B, rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of Rs 25,000 under Section 354C.The court fined a total of Rs 11.5 lakh, out of which Rs 11.25 lakh is to be paid.The victim was allegedly attacked twice, once the family’s Ganikada Farmhouse in Halanarsipura in Hasan district and then with incidents lodged on the mobile phone of the accused in Bangalore. Revanna has been charged under several sections of the IPC and IT Act.Prajwal is also facing tests in three other sexual assault cases, currently being investigated by a special investigation team.(With input from agencies)
