Prithviraj- Mohanlal’s L2: Empuran sees a decline of more than 80% in the 3rd week, collects just Rs 2.53 crore. Malayalam Movie News

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s multi-planned thriller L2: Emperan is facing a sharp decline in box office collections, crashed more than 80% in its third week. The film, which has been opened for large -scale numbers and strong discussions, has shown a steep down tendency, which according to Sacnilk earns just Rs 2.53 crore in six days of the third week.
The number indicates a clearly a clearly opposite performance of the film. In its first week, L2: Empuraan gave the box office a storm with an unprecedented rupee with Rs 88.25 crore, which rides Mohanlal’s magnetic screen appearance and high ride on Prithviraj’s direction vision. In the second week, a noticeable dip was observed, in which Rs 14.65 crore gathered – a drop of more than 83%. However, the third week has been even more disappointing, as the film failed to maintain speed, brought for just Rs 2.53 crore for six days. This took the overall collection of the film to Rs 105.43 crore.
This dramatic decline in the collection suggests that while early curiosity and fan Aadhaar pushed the film into an early number of impressive numbers, it lacked the power to keep the audience for a long time. The film has become the highest grossing Malayalam film of all time and is the second largest film in Kerala.
The film also faced a controversy with the depiction of the 2002 Gujarat riot, which led to Mohanlal forgives on social media. The waiver was later shared by actor-director Prithviraj. The controversy inspired the producers to make voluntary cuts in the film and have since seen a visible decline in the film’s appeal.
Film, 2019 blockbuster sequel LuciferThere were expectations riding on it, and when it was distributed in parts, it has proved difficult to maintain the buzz.
However, the producers have already started working on the third part of the film, titled L3: The Beginning. Mohanlal’s son Pranav has been designed to play the small self of Stepherne Nedampali.
