Qatar Airways is taking another step in reconstruction of its operation in Syria. From August 10, 2025, the airline will resume direct flights to Aleppo with three weekly services. From September 1, these will increase to four flights a week. It comes months after the airline resumed in Damascus in 2025, marking its first return to the Syrian sky since suspension of flights in 2012. This step indicates a gradual re -entry into the Syrian market, becoming another city with Aleppo which is now connected to Doha. Qatar Airways states that it is part of a broad push to improve regional connectivity through its center at Hamad International Airport.
Flight schedule and details

Why does it matter
- Reconstruction of relations with Syria: Return to Aleppo follows the first restart of flights to Damascus. Together, these routes point to Qatar Airways’ slow but steady return to the Syrian market. The country was cut off from very international air travel due to years of struggle. These flights mark a change.
- Regional access to expansion: Aleppo joined the network of Qatar Airways of over 170 destinations. For passengers, this means more access to and out in northern Syria. For the airline, it is a step to re -connect the area with its global routes.
- Connect through Doha: All flights are a growing center for traveling between Europe, Asia and Middle East through Hamad International Airport in Doha. For Syrians flying out of Aleppo, it opens the door of global destinations, many of which are not directly accessible.
Return to Damascus in early 2025
Qatar Airways quietly resumed flights to Damascus early this year. It marked the first return of the airline to Syria in a decade. This decision indicated a cautious entry into the country, Damascus was chosen as the initial hub due to its capital status and central place. This determined the phase for the broader regional access and showed that the airline was testing the ground for future expansion. Aleppo now follows as part of that plan.
