‘I wish I would join him, but I was not’
The actress of ‘Prem Kahni’ strongly dismissed the rumors that she had a romantic relationship with Rajesh Khanna, although she admitted that she had feelings for her. “I wish I had joined him, but I was not. He revealed that Rajesh, called Kaka, was actually in love with his close friend Anju Mahendru. The couple had a strong bond for years, and Mumtaz used to visit him regularly after his marriage. “Anju was a very good host. Anju had no information about marriage
According to Mumtaz, Anju was blind when Rajesh married Dimple. He shared what Anju told him during one of his conversations. “I asked her, and she said, ‘I don’t know. I was in a party, and the next thing I know she decided to get married. She is a proud woman, she is very happy. It was not bothering her that her lover had left her. She did not want to mop on her. She was not hurt, but she was not.” Despite everything, Mumtaz and Anju are close friends of today.
Rajesh Khanna’s wedding to Dimple Kapadia in 1973 was released a few months before his first film ‘Bobby’.
