India is carrying forward efforts to enhance relations with Beijing, with being formally eager to formally make a deal to end the trade war between the US and China. In a conversation between Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and a conversation between Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weeong, India and China agreed to re -start direct air services and to intensify measures to keep “some functional dialogues” to resolve specific issues of concerns with other things, trade and economy.Misri hosted Sun for a rare high-level bilateral visit from China this week, as reported by TOI on Wednesday for the first time, and this year his second meeting, after engagement in Beijing in January, during which the two sides announced several measures to normalize the relationship. On this occasion, they agreed to stabilize and rebuild relationships with focus on people-focused busyness.According to Beijing, India confirmed its support for the ongoing Chinese President’s post of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and 2 sides also agreed to prepare for the 24th meeting of special representatives on India-China border question in India. The SR talks resumed in December last year after a 5 -year gap, in which NSA Ajit Doval was traveling to China. It was then announced that his counterpart Wang Yi would travel to India for another round of talks in 2025.Beijing is curious that PM Narendra Modi visit China for the SCO summit in Tianjin this year, who will also see Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif in the presence. India has not confirmed Modi’s participation and will yet and perhaps the SR will wait to see the results of the meeting, which may be early next month, and the SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting – beyond the summit – in which the Foreign Minister’s Jaishankar can be attended. India did not mention SCO in its readout. Surya also called Dowal during his visit.“The two sides agreed to accelerate the steps involved in resumption of direct air services between the two countries. The Foreign Secretary hoped for the initial completion of an updated air service agreement,” an Indian readout said, “He said that he agreed to take practical steps for visa facilities and exchange between media and think-tank.”Misri appreciated China’s support to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra this month and hoped for progress on trans-border river cooperation, including hydrological data sharing. India had earlier expressed concern about the construction of the world’s largest hydroelectric dam on the Brahmaputra River of China, known as Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet.India wants to solve trade and economic issues, including China’s export control over rare earth -related items, in a way that can promote long -term policy transparency and prediction. On rare Earth’s issues, the Government of India said this week that in line with international practices, it is exposed to Beijing to predict in the supply chain for trade. According to the Indian readout, 2 two parties “positively evaluated the planned activities under the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between India and China and agreed to facilitate the same”.The Chinese readout of the Misri-San Sun talks stated that the two sides pushed to resume direct flights, with people to exchange people and resume bilateral dialogues continuously.According to Beijing, Sun said that both sides should follow the significant understanding of Modi and President Xi Jinping during their meeting in Kazan last year after an agreement to end military deadlock in eastern Ladakh. He also asked to play a creative role in increasing the mutual trust, handling differences properly and maintaining international peace and stability.
