Who was the Felix Bamgarter?
The Felix Bomgarter was an Austrian Skydivor, Base Jumper, Stunt Pilot and Extreme Sports icons, known to carry forward the boundaries of human flight. Born in 1969 in Salzburg, he began Skidoving in his adolescence and respected his skills in the Austrian army. Over the years, he became famous for daring stunts – from jumping from skyscrapers to gliding in the English channel in carbon wings. In 1999, he attracted international attention by demonstrating the world’s lowest base jump from the hand of Christ the Redimer statue of Rio.However, this was his 2012 Red Bull Strateos Mission that actually defined him: 24-mile skydives from stratosphere, which became the first person to break him without mechanical help. Known as “Fearless Felix”, he added precision, plan and bravery to everything he has done. Bamgarter was also a licensed helicopter pilot and balloon, which, as a lifetime passion, was quite literally, it was all above all.
