New Delhi: Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has confirmed that Rohit Sharma missed the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants after maintaining a knee injury during the practice, causing fans and team to sweat the fitness of the star opener.
“Rohit received only a hit in the IT band on his knee and tried to bat yesterday, could not put any weight on it,” Jayawardi revealed during the post -match press conference. “So he came again and did a fitness test to try today and it was inconvenienced to bat, put weight on him.”

With Rohit being unable to move freely, the team opted for caution. “He realized that it was not 100% for him to play the game, so we made it realize,” JayWordene said, explaining the decision to rest the experienced batsman.
