New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has suspended four officers, when an old rake is being conferred for transportation to BSF personnel from Tripura to Jammu and Kashmir with dirty coaches, which is for deployment during the Amarnath Yatra. Vaishnav said on Wednesday, “The rake of the train had changed. And action has been taken. Four officers responsible for the lapse have been suspended.”The Railway Ministry said: “The Railway Minister said that the dignity of the security forces is paramount and such negligence will not be tolerated at any level. An inquiry has also been ordered, so that such laps do not repetitive”. The coaching depot officer and three senior section engineers of the Alipur Division were suspended. “Another train was used to transport BSF personnel,” said an official.Earlier in the day, after social media users, reacting to the video that appeared online, criticized the Railways, the Northeast Frontier Railway Zone dismissed the episode. “It is alleged that the BSF was provided such coach for the journey, wrong. The coach is provided for the journey only after the necessary maintenance, repair and cleaning. The video is of an unexpected coach that was being sent for repair and not to travel to the BSF forces,” this was posted.About 1,200 BSF personnel bound for Jammu Tawi were scheduled to board a special train starting from Udaipur on 6 June. The train was to make some stops, riding from Tripura, Assam and West Bengal with personnel.
