New Delhi: Union Water Power Minister CR Patil on Thursday confirmed India’s difficult stance on the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), claiming that the step is in the interest of the nation and rejecting the Pakistani warning as empty threats.When asked about the current status of the treaty in the Pressure, Patil said, “This decision is from the Government of India and the Prime Minister … there is no update on the indictment of the treaty. Whatever decision will be taken, it will only benefit the nation.”
