San Francisco to ban RV Living; Mayor waste, cite safety issues; Hundreds of face displacement

San Francisco is preparing to ban people living in recreational vehicles (RV) on the city streets, a step that can force hundreds of unheard of residents – including working families and immigrants – to tolerate the only shelter. The crack comes under a comprehensive promise to clean the city of Mayor Daniel Luri and focus around strict new parking rules.Kunal Modi, head of the health of the homeless and family services department, told news agency Associated Press, “The spread of big vehicles has affected the blocking pavements, compromised traffic circulation and health hazards. These are real challenges that experience residents and businesses daily,” Under the proposed policy, RVS and other oversized vehicles will be limited to just two hours of parking anywhere in the city, making it almost impossible to long -term people. An exception would apply to those already registered before May – but only when they agree to work with the city when searching for accommodation and eventually surrender their vehicles.
Changes will affect at least 400 RVs being used directly as homes. Many of them say that they cannot only bear the expenses of Akash-high fare of San Francisco. “We are deploying a dedicated colleague-based outreach team, including people with living experiences of vehicles. Rolls will attach people living in big vehicles, assess their needs, determine their homeless status and connect them with housing resources,” SF homeless and auxiliary housing department described ABC7 news. Niti has approved its first hurdle and is expected to get final approval from the board of supervisors soon.
