Why Umrah Visa is temporarily suspended before Hajj

Saudi officials traditionally issued the Umrah visa several weeks before the Haj started. This stagnation is important to ensure that the entire logical, health and safety capabilities of the country focus on adjusting the Haj pilgrimage, especially the Haj pilgrimage, which is on a concentrated time limit and includes a large number of pilgrims compared to Umrah. By temporarily suspending Umrah operations, the state ensures:

  • Numbering of uninterrupted planning and Hajj
  • Safe position for all pilgrims
  • Peak pilgrimage time more efficient use of resources

What is expected ahead of Umrah Access of the year

Unlike Hajj, which is bound to a specific Islamic lunar period, Umrah is open throughout the year. With the release of the visa, it is now starting again, the Saudi Arabia is preparing to host a new arrival of pilgrims who want to do less pilgrimage in the coming months. According to the ministry, updates will continue in the near future:

  • Pilgrim quota
  • Travel protocol
  • Health and safety guidelines

As part of its long -term vision, Saudi Arabia is expected to include a lesson in the ongoing modernization and streamlings of the Umrah experience since 2025.
