Ten years ago, we started a bold journey in the unwanted area with great punishment. While decades were suspected of Indians ‘ability to use technology, we changed this approach and trusted Indians’ ability to use technology.While decades were spent thinking that the use of technology would deepen the gap between Havs and Hav-Nots, we changed this mindset and used technology to eliminate the gap between Havs and Hav-Nots.When the intention is correct, the innovation strengthens less power. When the approach is inclusive, the technology brings changes in the lives of those people on margin. This belief laid the foundation for Digital India: Mission to democratizing access, construction of inclusive digital infrastructure, and opportunities for all.In 2014, the Internet penetration was limited, digital literacy was low, and online access to government services was rare. Many people suspected whether the huge and diverse country as India could actually be digital. Today, that question has been answered not only in data and dashboard, but also in the lives of 140 million Indians. How we rule, how we learn, transact and build, Digital India is everywhere.Digital divisionIn 2014, India had about 25 crore internet connections. Today, this number has exceeded 97 crores. More than 42 million km of optical fiber cable, equal to 11 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon, now also connects the most remote villages.India’s 5G rollout is the fastest in the world, with 4.8 lakh base stations installed in only two years. The high-speed internet now reaches the urban hub and forward military positions, including Galwan, Siachen and Ladakh.India Stack, which is our digital backbone, has enabled platforms such as UPI, which now handles 100+ billion transactions in a year. Half of all real -time digital transactions occur in India.Through direct profit transfer, more than Rs 44 lakh crore has been transferred directly to citizens, middlemen have been cut and saved of Rs 3.5 lakh crore in leakage. Schemes like Svamitva have issued 2.4 crore+ property cards and mapped 6.4 lakh villages, which end the years of land uncertainty.Opportunity for all democraticIndia’s digital economy is empowering MSME and small entrepreneurs like never before. ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) is a revolutionary platform that opens a new window of opportunity by providing a spontaneous relationship between the huge market of buyers and sellers.GEM (government e-marketplace) enables the common man to sell goods and services to all the weapons of the government. It not only empowers the common man with a huge market, but also saves money for the government.ONDC recently crossed 200 million transactions, with the last 100 million in just six months. From Banarasi weavers to bamboo artisans in Nagaland, sellers are now reaching nationwide customers, without middlemen or digital monopoly.Jame has also crossed GMV of Rs 1 lakh crore in 50 days, including 1.8 lakh+ female-desert MSMEs with 22 lakh vendors, who have completed orders of Rs 46,000 crore.Digital Public Infrastructure: India’s global offerIndia’s Digital Public Infrastructure – Aadhaar, Kovin, Digiloker and Fastag to PM -Bhawan and One Nation One Subscription – are now studied and adopted globally.Kovin enabled the world’s largest vaccination drive, with 220 crore QR-crucifying certificates. Digilocker, with 54 crore users, hosts 775 crore+ documents, safely and originally.Through our G20 Presidency, India launched a global DPI repository and $ 25 million social influence fund, helping nations in Africa and South Asia adopt an inclusive digital ecosystem.Startup meets power millBharat BharatIndia now rank with more than 1.8 million startups in the world’s top three startup ecosystems. But this is more than a startup movement, it is a technical renaissance.India is doing very well when it comes to AI skill penetration and AI talent concentration among our youth. Through $ 1.2 billion India AI Mission, India has enabled 34,000 GPU access to unmatched prices globally at less than $ 1/GPU hour, which is not only the cheapest internet economy, but also the cheapest calculation destination.India has made humanity-first AI the champion. The New Delhi announcement on AI promotes innovation with responsibility. We are setting up AI centers of excellence across the country.Ahead roadThe next decade will be even more transformative.
