In an important judgment, the Supreme Court has ruled that the High Court on its own decideing his appeal against punishment and punishment cannot extend the punishment given to a person and said that an accused cannot be worsened to appeal against the trial court’s decision.A bench of Justice Biwi Nagarthana and Satish Chandra Sharma said on Wednesday, “There was no appellant by filing an appeal, who could be worse than what he was”. In this case, a man went to a neighbor’s house at night and embraced her, but was caught by the woman’s mother -in -law. The next morning, the woman died of suicide.The police made three allegations against him – angered suicide, house trespass and humility of the woman. The trial court convicted him for the House Scusas and a dip. On his appeal, Madras HC additionally convicted and sentenced him to remove the woman’s suicide.
