New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday proposed an interim committee, which was chaired by a retired High Court Judge and included District Collector and Goswamis (Pujaris), Allahabad HC until then decides the validity of the village ordinance for the management of the Bihari temple in Vrindavan, which are for all the developers for the development of all-the-doves.A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymlya Bagchi asked Additional Solicitor General Kimi Natraj to seek the reaction of the state government by Tuesday morning, when it would take a batch of petitions, indicating by the SC order, the state government has questioned the method that came up with a temple development project, which was applied to the cost of Rs 500.Through Senior Advocate Shyam Dewan, Goswamis said that it was extraordinary to take the temple through an ordinance as the issue was not in front of the constitutional courts, which were only dealing with the alleged mismanagement of the Gurraj temple. He said that under the guise of better management of temples in ‘Braj Kshetra’, SC passed an order without listening to the temple Goswamis, which motivated the state to issue an ordinance, he said. The bench agreed that such an order could not be passed without listening to Goswamis. However, a bench, led by Justice Kant, said, “This is only for the development of the temple and its surroundings. The state intends to provide facilities to the pilgrims, not to exclude the funds of the temple.”Din said that the Banke Bihari Temple was a private temple and any order passed by the government or any order passed by the courts could not be done without listening to the Goswamis, who have been managing it for centuries. The bench saw a point in Diwan’s argument and said, “The state cannot be seen coming to the court in a cladstine manner and an order can be obtained in one such case, which was nothing with the Banke Bihari temple. We will separate the part of the order, set up an interim committee to manage the temple and allow HC to decide the order.”However, the bench was in favor of development around the temple to provide parking and space for pilgrims with all the features. “Religious tourism is giving great importance. It can also be a big revenue earner and can help in employment generation. But pilgrims must have adequate facilities to handle,” said this. The bench said that the Interim Committee may have to involve representatives of India’s Archaeological Survey as well as independent architects in the restoration of ancient building.
