If a person is doing 9-5 work, they usually work around 40 hours a week at their desk, however, these hours can grow in any or all given days.Scientists classified overworking in the form of clocking over 52 hours a week, and to study, they analyzed how long the work hours affected the minds of health workers, which regularly log in for more than 52 hours a week.To assess the impact of working conditions on the brain structure, scientists attracted data from a long -term study using MRI. In his final analysis, he included 110 people, 32 of which worked for stunning 78 standard hours.

The results showed that people who worked 52 hours or more in a week, demonstrated significant changes in the brain areas associated with executive work and emotional regulation, “unlike the participants who worked with standard hours. Additionally, the brain part associated with planning and decision making was also affected.“Results outline the importance of addressing overwork as a professional health concern and highlight the need for workplace policies that reduce excessive work hours,” the researchers of the study said.A team of researchers at the University of Yonsei in South Korea shared that overworking was previously associated with high risk of heart disease, metabolic disorders, and mental health issues. He also cited data from the International Labor Organization, which estimated that overwork kills more than 800,000 people every year.
