The NDA cabinet led by Nitish Kumar of Bihar on Tuesday approved Rs 882.87 crore, which to develop Maa Janaki temple in Kinadham (Sitamarahi), considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita, considered a major tourist destination on the lines of the Ram temple complex of Ayodhya. Under this scheme, which is being given the final shape before the assembly elections later this year, the Maa Janki temple will be rebuilt and developed tourist facilities developed in their surroundings to attract visitors. Soon after the cabinet meeting to post the details, Nitish took the X. The Chief Minister wrote, “The foundation for the project will be laid in August. We are committed to complete a grand temple in Panthoradham as soon as possible.” The site, 5 km from Sitamari city in North Bihar, is part of the Ramayana tourist circuit which connects Janakpur in Nepal with the Ram Janambhoomi (temple) site in Ayodhya. The Nitish cabinet recently approved the NOIDA-based private firm M/s design associates, designed advisors for Ram Temple, in a similar role for SITA Shrine Project. The Chief Minister said, “Sri Rama Janmabhumi Tirtha Kshatra, widespread development will be done on the lines of Ayodhya. The construction of the temple in Punadham is a matter of pride for the people of the country, especially for the people of Bihar.”
