Do you think the safety protocol at fuel stations needs to be strengthened?
Rome Mayor Roberto Guultieri confirmed that he was a minor of most of the reports reported. Elisabetta Acardo, a Roman police spokesman, said eight police officers were injured for rescue operations.“Earlier there were some chain explosions,” Accardo was asked to the Italian state broadcast Rai. “All policemen suffered irritation, but they are not in danger of life.”Neighboring buildings and children’s summer camps were evacuated after the explosion. Residents interviewed by local media said that the explosion was so loud and violent that it hit the nearby buildings and felt ‘like an earthquake’.After the first explosion, emergency services reached the spot, after which a strong explosion occurred a few minutes later.Pope Leo XIV also prayed for the people affected by the explosion, which took place “in my state’s heart”.Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that she is following the situation.“I express my proximity to all those who are injured – including law enforcement officers, firefighters and health workers – and I expand my heartiest thanks to those involved in rescue and safety work,” he wrote on X.
