‘Snipper unit fired on the convoy’: 27 Pakistani soldiers killed in separate attacks by Baloch fighters; IEDS also used
In the last two days, Baloch rebel groups have claimed responsibility for a link to deadly attacks on Pakistani military forces in Balochistan, allegedly killed at least 27 soldiers, according to Balochistan post.The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) said its Fateh squad targeted a military transport bus in Nimargh Cross area of Kalat, killing 27 soldiers and injuring several others.The bus was allegedly having a hawker to the personnel from Karachi to Quetta. BLA spokesperson Jiyand Baloch said that citizens were not targeted on the board, including qawwali artists, although Don reported three civilians, including two qawwals.In another incident, the BLA claimed to kill two soldiers and injured seven with a remote-controlled IED in the thousandgas of Quetta.The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) also announced two separate operations. On Tuesday, it said that an IED explosion in Khajina region of Kalat killed four soldiers. On Wednesday, it claimed that six died in Avaran’s Gujaro core area, ambushing six, including Major Syed Rawaz Nawaz Tariq from Muzaffarabad.Later, a sniper unit opened fire on a nearby military convoy, forcing a return to a return.BLF denied state media reports that its three “fighters” were killed, alleging that Pakistani forces may have staged fake encounters.Balochistan has seen decades long rebellion by separatist groups seeking freedom from Pakistan, with Islamabad that the rebellion has been largely suppressed-a claim challenged by militant violence.
